HPC successfully negotiated the development approval for a new 9,000m² Food Processing and Packaging Distribution Centre for Lite n’ Easy in Blacktown, NSW. The proposed facility will be used for:

1. The preparation of meal packages utilising food that has been cooked offsite and snap frozen before being transported to the site;
2. Assemble of fresh goods (fruit and vegetables) as salads or mixed vegetable or fruit packages;
3. Storage of goods before and after packaging according to the specific requirements for each package (i.e. frozen, refrigerated or dry stored); and
4. Distribution of goods to market.

The development application was followed by a Section 96 Application to modify the development consent. Blacktown Council agreed to HPC’s request and modified the consent to increase the size of the distribution building together with the resultant changes to the site layout, landscaping, car parking and fire access.

To further support Lite n’ Easy’s operational requirements an additional Section 96 application was lodged and subsequently approved to amend the staff recreation areas, relocate the screened rainwater tanks, incorporate additional driver amenities area, redesign the fire tanks, pump house and associated screening and minor amendments to the approved Landscape Plan.
